Abstract
Acoustic rhinometry, which is based on the reflection of an acoustic signal entering the nasal cavity, is a new method introduced to assess the geometry of the nasal cavity. It requires little cooperation from subjects and can be used when the
nasal
airway is totally occluded. Acoustic rhinometry was carried out in 75 normal Korean adults before and after decongestion to get normal topographic value. This study may serve as a basic data for the evaluation of the patients with rhinologic
diseases.
